Melancholy moments

I am thankful for my job and I love my coworkers and doing what I do as an ER nurse. I feel blessed to get to help and love on people in some of their weakest and most painful moments. Its exhausting and rewarding, butt-kicking and heart wrenching all at the same time. And in this economy, I know it is a good thing to have a job and one that pays well and is flexible. Even with all this, there are days like today when I wish I could just be home with my family and that I didn't have to leave them and that we didn't financially rely on my 6-8 days a month. I know I'm being a whiner because many people have to work way more than I do. Just sometimes it makes me sad to "have to" and "need to" when I just want to spend a Saturday with my family. Boo hoo, I'll be better in an hour.
